A brazing ring is a preform bent or stamped so it sits in a groove or against a tube. The filler volume is the ring, not a length of rod the operator feeds by eye.
4047 preforms, which include rings, are published at 0.03–2.00 mm thick and 20–1000 mm across, to EN 573-3, AMS 4185, and AWS A5.8. 4047 melts at 573–582 °C.
