Technical Overview

6061 extrusion is the structural profile, stronger than 6063 and still weldable. Sheet is 6061 sheet. Tube is 6061 tube. Bar is 6061 bar. Forgings are 6061 forgings.

Extruded hollows are ASTM B221, with QQ-A-200/8 named on the tube. T-slot sections that list 6061 are the 45 series and 2020 / 2040. Heat sinks that have to carry a load are the 6061-T6 line on the heat sink page, at about 167 W/m·K.
