Technical Overview

6063 is the extrusion alloy used when the profile has to anodise to one colour. Sheet in the same alloy is 6063 sheet. Tube is 6063 tube. Bar is 6063 bar.

Standard hollows are ASTM B221. T-slot in this alloy is on the 45 series and 2020 / 2040 pages. Heat-sink profiles are on the heat sink extrusion page. 6063-T5 is the temper named there as the usual heat-sink choice.

Density published for 6063 is 2.70 g/cm³. T5 and T6 strengths for the flat product are on the sheet page. A profile is ordered to a drawing: outside size, wall, temper, and anodic film.
